First Poker game

First Poker game

Games

Steps

  1. > Explanation of the game
  2. There are several styles of Poker: "No-Limit Texas Hold'em", "Pot-Limit Hold'em", "Limit Hold'em"
  3. In any case, the rules are similar, but we are only going to talk here about the most play, namely "No-Limit Texas Hold'em"

Before starting

  1. The "Dealer": In a casino, this person has a plastic indicator in front of him
  2. The "Small blind" (first player): The one to the left of the button, places a forced bet on the table, called the small blind (small blind, equivalent to half of the big blind)
  3. The "Big blind" (second player): The one to the left of the first player, also places a forced bet on the table called the big blind
  4. So on so that each player can validate his presence for the rest
  5. Example: In a 10/20 Limit Texas Hold'em game, the small bet is 10 and the big bet is 20, so the big blind is 10 (the size of a small bet) and the small blind is 5 (half the size of the big blind and the small bet)

The starting hand

  1. Cards are dealt clockwise, starting with the player to the left of the button (the small blind) and ending with the player playing the role of the "Dealer" (button )
  2. Each player receives two hole cards, which are placed face down on the table

The first round

  1. The third player: The one to the left of the second player, known under the name of "under the gun", has the choice between "Fold" (therefore stop playing this hand), "Call" (therefore by putting the same amount than the big blind), or "raise" (therefore call by increasing)
  2. Then the betting continues clockwise until each player who has not folded has contributed equally to the pot
  3. > So when the round is over, if everyone has not put the same amount in the pot, we repeat a round so that the players can line up or "Fold"
  4. /!\ This is called the "Cap" (thus capping the bets), which means that raises are no longer allowed!

The second round: The flop

  1. The "Dealer" begins by burning the card that is on top of the deck of cards (placing it face down on the table)
  2. > This procedure is done in order to prevent cheating in case the top card is marked
  3. He then turns three cards on the table (the "Flop"), which all players can see
  4. /!\ This is a decisive moment for all players who are still in the game, as there will only be two more cards, which means that 5 of the 7 possible final cards to constitute their main are already known (because you have both deprived of your hand)!
  5. Since the blinds are only used in the first betting round, it is now the small blind to play first (it is in place # 1). If the small blind folded before the "Flop", it is the "Big blind" 's turn to play, and so on
  6. Each player will be able to choose between "Fold" (to fold, therefore abandon), "Checker" (thus pass his turn, or call with the same amount) or of "Bet" (if the player bets, it must be exactly d. 'a small bet)
  7. /!\ If all players check on the "Flop", they can all see the fourth card (not forgetting to burn), without needing to add any money!

The third turn: The turn

  1. The "Dealer" burns the top card and turns over a fourth community card (called the turn), next to the "Flop"
  2. The rest of the round is the same as the second

The fourth round: The river

  1. The "Dealer" burns the top card and turns over the last community card (call the river), next to the "Flop"
  2. The rest of the round is the same as the second

Carpets

  1. /!\ If a player goes all-in, all players are obliged to continue in the same way, the vaiqueur wins everything (within the limit of his stack)!
  2. Example: If player A goes all-in with 10 0 and B calls with his stack of 200, player A can only win 100 of B

The placement

  1. If you play in the first
  2. You need figures or at least a potential big height (Ace and Queen), the ideal is a pair of figures (pairs of Kings)
  3. /!\ So don't hesitate to fold if you don't have good cards!
  4. If you play in the last
  5. You clearly have an advantage, because the decisions of the preceding ones will make it possible for you to bluff more easily
  6. /!\ So do not hesitate to call or bet, even if you do not have good cards (as far as is reasonable) according to the actions of others (if the players only "Check" or "Call" ")!
  7. Carpets
  8. Même si vous avez un excellent jeu, jouer intelligemment et faites monter progressivement le pot pour gagner davantage à la fin, voir les vider avec votre tapis
  9. /!\ If you attack too quickly, you risk scaring them and causing them to give up and therefore gain nothing at all!
  10. Trackers
  11. There is different software, depending on the platform you are using, to help you get statistics on the players you meet
  12. > The more you play with the same and the more accurate and useful data you will have, such as the percentage of times it "Bet"
  13. /!\ Not all of them are free, or even authorized by the platform you are using, so check which ones are possible!
  14. Example: If player A has higher percentages than the average, then he is bluffing a lot and therefore you can use this information against him, especially if he just had a good hand in the previous one
  15. Awards
  16. All platforms are making introductory offers to allow for more to start
  17. https://www.partypoker.fr/fr/promotions/welcome-bonus
  18. > You can therefore play with what he gives you and withdraw your initial contribution
