Swimming pool

House

Steps

If below 15 degrees

  1. Turn off the electrolyzer
  2. Switch to chlorine
  3. One roller in each skimmer (normally and once a month)
  4. Check pH and chlorine (from time to time to adjust)

If above 15 degrees

  1. No chlorine (unless need shock chlorine at the start)
  2. Salt test to balance if necessary
  3. Restarting the electrolyzer

Restart a salt swimming pool

  1. Remove winterizing equipment (wintering blanket, winterizing caps, gizmos, etc.)
  2. Clean the pool area (beach, coping, etc.) and pass the landing net into the pool
  3. Replace the skimmer baskets, the discharge nozzle jets, and all necessary equipment
  4. Raise the water level (¾ of the skimmers)
  5. Clean the filter and restart it, as well as the pool pump
  6. Analyze and correct the water balance (pH, TAC, TH, stabilizer)
  7. Test the salt level, and add the extra salt, referring to the dosage in the electrolyser instructions for use
  8. Carry out a shock treatment of the water (with rapid chlorine or active oxygen) to disinfect it thoroughly, taking care to first turn off the automatic water treatment devices (pH regulator , electrolyzer, etc.)
  9. Run the filtration continuously until clear water is obtained

Filter quality

  1. If pressure increases towards 17 stop filtration, start washing until the tester is clear, approximately 1 minute 30 maximum
  2. Then rinse for 30 seconds

Shock chlorine

  1. > 4 small shock chlorine pebbles for 10m3
  2. Separated by skimmer
  3. So 24 for 80m3, if 2 skimmers, then 12 in each
  4. Put in filtration mode 24/7
  5. Clean with the brush morning and evening
  6. Return to normal after 48 hours when the water becomes clear again

Cellule Plus cleaner for swimming pool salt electrolyzer cells 2.5 liters

  1. Disconnect the pump, filter and electrolyzer
  2. Remove the cell from your electrolyzer
  3. Wash your cell with lukewarm water for best results
  4. Completely immerse your cell in a plastic container containing the Lo-Chlor Cell Cleaner Plus solution
  5. Leave the product and your cell on for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cell seems clean
  6. Rinse your cell carefully with clean water and put it back into your electrolyzer
  7. You can reuse Lo-Chlor Cell Cleaner Plus but in case your cell is heavily clogged, it is advisable to make a second application

Salt quality test

  1. Pool salt test strip
  2. https://www.amazon.fr/piscine-0-8000-concentration-teneur-chloride/dp/B0B6VRPF48/
  3. 10 Bags of 25Kg of water softener salt tabletsView
  4. https://www.leroymerlin.fr/produits/terrasse-jardin/spa/produit-entreprises-spa/produit-pour-traitement-un-probleme-eau/10-sacs-de-25kg-en-pastilles-de-salt-water-softener-87686902.html

Refilling the salt

  1. See what the electrolyser recommends to know how much to add
  2. Volume: 1 m3 = 1,000 L of water
  3. Salt rate: 1 g/L = 1 Kg/m3
  4. Quantity of salt (Kg) = Volume of water (m3)
  5. For example, for a 12x4x1.7 (average, because slope from 1.5 to 1.8), if the current rate is 1 g/L and the electrolyzer says between 4 g/L and 5 g/L, then 3.5 is missing g/L, which gives 3.5 * 80 = 280
  6. https://www.mypiscine.com/content/104-combien-de-sel-adder-dans-ma-piscine
  7. /!\ Turn off the electrolyzer before adding salt and wait for it to dissolve before putting it back
  8. > Tip: Put some of the salt towards the steps, where the pushers are, to see better

If the electrodes are dirty and/or with limescale

  1. Bath in special product
  2. For example: Cell Renov Naturally Salt Bayrol Descaler
  3. https://www.irrijardin.fr/produit/cell-renov-naturally-salt

Application (if compatible box)

  1. TIDL - Vigipool (with thermal probe)
  2. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Vigipool&c=apps&hl=fr&gl=US
  3. https://www.vigipool.com/

Flocculant

  1. /!\ If the water is cloudy due to particles that are too fine for the filter, brush and/or robot
  2. Put a Flocculant in each skimmer in the morning
  3. Stop filtration at night
  4. Clean in the morning with the broom and/or robot
  5. Restore filtration

Stabilizer

  1. Add 40g/m3 of chlorine stabilizer to a bucket to dissolve it with hot water (10L of water per kg of product)
  2. Put the filtration into operation
  3. Slowly pour the diluted product into the skimmer and circulate the water for 24 hours so that the product is completely dissolved
  4. Add 20g/m3 of piscimar chlorine stabilizer mid-season if the cyanuric acid concentration is not higher than 40ppm
  5. Add stabilizer proportionally if adding water

PH corrector

  1. Salt: only ph-
  2. Chlorine: only ph+
  3. /!\ 800g to decrease by 0.1

Start of the broom

  1. Place in Filtration position
  2. Open the brush cap in the pool (if present)
  3. Close the valves of the skimmer(s)
  4. Close the valves of the bottom drain(s)
  5. Open the brush valve
  6. Connect the handle to the brush head
  7. Put the broom head in the water
  8. Fill the ENTIRE brush hose with water (until water comes out of the tube, because if there is air, the pump will become unprimed)
  9. > The garden hose method is long but effective, that of putting it in front of the outlet of one of the outlets is not practical, and the quickest and simplest is to bring the hose vertically into the water (principle of communicating vessels) in full
  10. https://youtu.be/82Vft7ziSc0?t=300
  11. Connect the brush
  12. Do not take out the broom head
  13. Move slowly on the bottom
  14. If there is air in the brushes, it deprimes the pump
  15. /!\ If no compressor, then the filter nameometer will drop to 0 and there will be no more suction

Broom stop

  1. Open the valves of the skimmer(s)
  2. Open the valves of the bottom drain(s)
  3. Close the brush valve
  4. Remove the brush
  5. Put the cap
  6. Clean the filtration basket (see other tutorials)
  7. Washing the filter (see other tutorials)

Clean the filtration basket

  1. Stop filtration
  2. Close the valves of the skimmer(s)
  3. Close the discharge valve(s)
  4. Unscrew the basket lid
  5. Rinse with water
  6. Return the basket
  7. Put water in the basket (at least half)
  8. Replace the lid
  9. Tighten the screws
  10. Open the valves of the skimmer(s)
  11. Open the discharge valve(s)
  12. Reset the filtration

Filter washing

  1. If the nanometer becomes too high (green comes to red)
  2. Stop filtration
  3. Place on Wash position
  4. Reset the filtration
  5. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, as it depends on the turbine light which will become clean (put your finger behind it to see if it is opaque)
  6. This drains the pool (because the filter works in reverse to clean it)
  7. Rinsing the filter (see other tutorials)

Rinsing the filter

  1. Stop filtration
  2. Place on Rinse position
  3. Wait 30 seconds maximum (to avoid sending impurities back into the pool)
  4. Reset the filtration

Reprime the pump

  1. Stop filtration
  2. Close the valves of the skimmer(s)
  3. Close the discharge valve(s)
  4. Put on the Wash position
  5. Unscrew the basket lid
  6. Put water in the basket (to the brim)
  7. Reset the filtration
  8. Open the valve of a skimmer
  9. Wait for the water level in the basket to decrease a little and for the filter to turn (open the other Skimmers if you have them, one by one)
  10. Rinsing the filter (see other tutorials)
  11. Activation of filtration (see other tutorials)

Activation of filtration

  1. Stop filtration
  2. Put on the Filtration position
  3. Reset the filtration

To clean

  1. Magic sponge to clean the Liner at the water line
  2. Brooms for the bottom after flocculant
  3. Landing net for leaves on the surface

Bromine

  1. With water at 35°C or more, conventional chlorine will have difficulty disinfecting the water correctly
  2. /!\ It will then be necessary to increase the doses
  3. Not this problem with bromine, as it will maintain the same effectiveness

Active oxygen

  1. To protect your thyroid from endocrine disruptors like Bromine, use Active Oxygen (tablet or powder)

Electricity cost

  1. Find the brand and model of the pump to know its power in Watt

Reset the pump

  1. Puts water in the pump tank to the maximum
  2. We close the skimmers, brushes and electrolyzer
  3. So put in normal circuit instead of the electrolyzer
  4. Then recirculate the pump
  5. Then manually turn on the pump and at the same time open the brush socket to draw in air
  6. If the water comes out of the nozzles, this means that it has been primed and that it can be returned to normal (all occupied, then filtration mode, reset the cell channel if present, then turn it back on)

Robot

  1. Check that the float (generally a blue oval ball, closed with clips) is higher than the water
  2. For example, if your pool is between 1.50m and 1.70m, set it to 1.80m

Order

  1. Turn off the electrolyzer
  2. Add the salt
  3. Put the PH-
  4. Wait 30m minutes and repeat if necessary for the PH-
  5. Waiting 24 hours
  6. Put the shock chlorine in skimmer (or float) when the PH is stabilized
  7. Wait 48 hours
  8. Turn the electrolyzer back on
